This presentation is part of the 5th Annual Bridging Communities Conference: Finding Connection and Building Communities in a Virtual Environment. Ticket price includes access to all Bridging Communities speakers throughout the month of November including the keynote on November 24, 2020.

This informative and engaging workshop will introduce participants to fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and its impacts on health and social outcomes throughout the lifespan, including risk for experiencing domestic violence and other secondary challenges. Participants will learn how to recognize FASD in clients and will explore the importance of addressing the secondary challenges commonly seen. This session will emphasize recent efforts of the Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network (CFAN) and its members to create an FASD-informed community of practice and to build an integrated system of support for individuals and families impacted by FASD.
